Austin found the net in both their Europa League win over Sparta Prague and in the Saints’ first Premier League victory of the season.

Southampton forward Charlie Austin is hoping that recent results will mean the Saints can generate some momentum and the side can push on this season, the Daily Echo reports.
Austin came off the bench to grab Southampton’s winner against Swansea City – their first Premier League win of the season – three days after they got their Europa League campaign off to the perfect start with victory over Sparta Prague.
The Saints had been a little unlucky to have just two points from their opening four games, notably with their previous league outing against Arsenal, where they lost in the dying stages of the game at the Emirates Stadium having more than matched the Gunners over the course of the match.

But Austin wants the side to kick on from a positive few days, and is quoted in the Daily Echo, saying: “We can push on now. We’ve got a big game [against West Ham] next week.
“We’ve got an important three points today and now we can push on, go again against Palace midweek. We’ve got the momentum to keep going getting wins and clean sheets.”

The Saints begin their campaign in the EFL Cup this week when they take on Crystal Palace, while they will be hoping to heap more misery on West Ham United next weekend, as they will be facing a Hammers side that has conceded eight goals in their past two league games.
Given that Austin has just found his scoring touch, he will probably be licking his lips at the prospect of adding to his tally at the London Stadium.
It is a very busy period for the Saints, and manager Claude Puel will likely make one or two changes in the coming games in order to keep his players fresh, but there should be plenty of confidence among the squad now, and every player should sense their opportunity to stake a claim for a regular place in the side.
