Chelsea boss Antonio Conte faced the media ahead of the side’s clash with Liverpool in the Premier League tomorrow night.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that David Luiz will make his second debut for the club when they host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night during his pre-match press conference.
Luiz will come in for John Terry who is sidelined because of an ankle injury.
Conte told reporters at his pre-match press conference, as shown on the club’s official website: “Tomorrow David Luiz will play for the first time and we are confident about this.
“We expect that he’ll play very well with great attention. We know that David is a good player, we are working to put him in the best condition.”
Chelsea face a side that has already beaten both of last season’s top two in their opening four games, and having faced them in a pre-season game in the United States Conte is wary of the danger that Liverpool possess and rates their manager as one of the best.
“It will be very tough against a strong team,” he said. “I think Liverpool is a really good team, they play with high intensity – they bring many players in offensive situations. I think they are a very good team and we must pay great attention tomorrow.
“Jurgen Klopp is a good manager, one of the best in the world and he is showing also at Liverpool a great capacity to be a great manager. I know him but not too much, we played against with our team only once in pre-season but I repeat, he is a fantastic manager.”
The Chelsea boss was asked about the future of midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who has struggled to get into the side this season, with N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic the current preferred pairing in the middle of the park.
As a result, it seems to have fuelled speculation about Fabregas’s future, but the Chelsea boss gave a strong answer when asked about the Spaniard’s future.
He said: “No Cesc is in my plan, is in Chelsea plans. We all know Cesc is a fantastic player.”
