Fulham, Manchester City, Everton, Southampton and Stoke City feature
There have been several memorable aspects to this Premier League weekend, Newcastle took Liverpool all the way with ten men, Arsenal’s four goals against Norwich all received widespread plaudits, whilst Eden Hazard’s brace means he may be unfortunate to miss out on this heroes list.
But here’s my five from the eighth round of fixtures from this season’s Premier League.

Pajtim Kasami
People are talking about this as a goal of the season contender and quite rightly. But the thing that has perhaps been lost is how big a goal it was in the context of the game. Trailing 1-0 to a Palace side that was playing pretty well and looked determined to win their second game of the seasons, Kasami’s stunning volley will have felt like a sucker punch, resulting in a massive shift in momentum.
Sergio Aguero
Ultimately he was the difference between Manchester City and West Ham on Saturday evening as City got their first league win on the road this season. Aguero struck twice and combined with David Silva with the third goal.
Steven Pienaar
Pienaar has just returned from injury and was thrown into the action in the 56th minute in place of Leon Osman. His intervention was telling and crucial as he scored the winning goal against Hull City with his first touch of the ball.
Asmir Begovic
West Brom probably walked away from the Britannia Stadium wondering how they didn’t take all three points. The answer to that may be Stoke’s Asmir Begovic who made a series of good saves to deny the Baggies the win.
Dejan Lovren/Adam Lallana
Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino said he gives 50% of the credit to Lovren and 50% to Lallana. But it was Lallana’s decisive touch that gave Southampton a massive point at Old Trafford to prove their early season credentials as challengers for a European spot.
