Ian Wright has stated that it’s ‘fantastic’ that non-league Kidderminster have been drawn up against West Ham in the fourth round of the FA Cup, as he told ITV.
After West Ham saw off fellow Premier League side Leeds in the third round, they will now travel down to the Aggborough Stadium to take on Kidderminster.
It’s great reward for Russell Penn’s side because they get to face off against one of the top teams in the Premier League.
West Ham are chasing another European finish this season and are flying high in the Europa League.
The Hammers will want to add silverware to their ranks this season and, from their perspective, this is a very great draw.
That was touched upon by former striker Wright, who thinks this draw is a win-win situation for both teams.
“Fantastic for Kidderminster,” said Wright. “Brilliant draw.
“It’s one of those games, West Ham are doing so well. This is what you need to do. You need to get past this round, to go and try and win something.
“It’s a great draw for both of them. This is a West Ham side that are a lot more serious and focused about what they are doing.”
From a playing perspective, these Kidderminster players will lock horns with some of the best players in Europe.
David Moyes likes to play strong squads throughout the season and there is no reason why someone like Declan Rice won’t lace up his boots for this match.
Then there is the financial aspect of facing a team in England’s top-flight and how much it can benefit the club as a whole in the long run.
But either way, it is set to be a mouthwatering encounter and the pick of the fourth round FA Cup ties.
