Ian Wright has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:34pm, March 13, 2022) for his performance against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
Arsenal got the better of Leicester 2-0 at home in the Premier League on Sunday.
Former Real Madrid player Odegaard was very influential in the match, and Arsenal legend Wright was impressed, describing him in seven words on MOTD 2.
Wright said about Odegaard: “He is incisive without being too Hollywood.”
Martin Odegaard superb for Arsenal
In our view, Odegaard has been superb for Arsenal this season, especially in recent weeks, and his importance in the team is growing.
The 23-year-old was brilliant for Arsenal against Leicester and was one of the best players on the pitch.
The Norway international attacking midfielder played six key passes, had a pass accuracy of 80.4%, won one header, took 68 touches, attempted one dribble, made three tackles and one interception.
Odegaard has made 20 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season.
The attacker has scored five goals and given three assists in those games.
In our opinion, for Arsenal to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season, Odegaard will have to maintain this current form and will have to be at the top of his game.
