Ian Wright has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on Twitter for his goal against Olympiakos tonight.

The Arsenal legend was impressed by the goal that Odegaard, signed on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window, scored against Olympiakos in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 tie tonight.

The 22-year-old Norway international attacking midfielder scored a wonderful goal with his left foot from outside the box in the 34th minute.

It was the youngster’s debut goal for Arsenal, and club legend Wright was blown away.

Winger Yannick Bolasie, now on loan at Middlesbrough from Everton, was impressed by Odegaard’s strike as well.

Good for Martin Odegaard’s confidence

Odegaard was not having a great evening before he scored the wonder-goal, and his strike will give him more confidence in the coming weeks.

The Norwegian has done relatively well for Arsenal during his loan spell so far, but he could do better.

Perhaps the goal against Olympiakos will enhance his confidence, and the Gunners fans could now see the youngster step up his game.
