Ian Wright believes Tottenham’s back-ups will give West Ham a tough game.
Pundit Ian Wright has warned West Ham that a weakened Tottenham side will not make their task easier this evening.
The two teams meet at Wembley in the Carabao Cup fourth round, with Hammers’ boss Slaven Bilic’s job under pressure.
West Ham were beaten 3-2 at home by Spurs in the Premier League earlier in the season, but two goal hero that day Harry Kane is likely to be rested along with several of his teammates, with a big game against Manchester United on the horizon.
West Ham would love to cause an upset but Wright believes whoever Tottenham pick will pose problems.
Wright told SkySports’ The Debate (24/10 10pm): “They are not going to be first choice, but they players who want to impress and play.
“Whoever is selected is going to be up for it.”
Tottenham could welcome back England international Danny Rose for his first start in eight months, while Fernando Llorente is hoping to lead the line up front.
Tottenham may rotate their team, but they will not want to pass up a good opportunity to win silverware, which the Carabao Cup presents.
Nor will they want to send their supporters home unhappy, and West Ham may be the perfect opponents in ensuring they are ‘up for the fight’.
