The Arsenal defender might be on the periphery of things yet again this season.

Ian Wright has told The Sun that centre-back Calum Chambers should leave Arsenal for the sake of his career.
Chambers, 21, was replaced in the Gunners defence by Rob Holding in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Leicester City for what was the 20-year-old’s second game as an Arsenal player.
It was a clear indication that manager Arsene Wenger perhaps rates Holding higher than his team-mate, who started just two Premier League games last season.

He joined Arsenal for £16 million from Southampton in 2014 but Chambers has not progressed as much as he was maybe expected to in those two years.
And Wright told The Sun that he would like to see the former Saints defender leave the North Londoners in order to get regular football.
“I feel for Calum Chambers. Someone we paid £16 million for and people like him should move on and not in a, ‘get rid of Calum’ [way].
“I’m saying for Calum’s sake he should move on for his own sake. You’ve got Holding come from a Bolton side who let in 81 goals [last season]. He is now in front of Calum Chambers. It doesn’t make sense for Arsenal or him to be staying there.”

Per Mertesacker and Gabriel will spend seven months between them on the sidelines through injury, but when they return it is probable for Chambers to be Wenger’s fifth-choice central defender – maybe even sixth, if they sign Shkodran Mustafi this month.
He needs games but it seems increasingly obvious that Wenger does not trust him enough at the moment to play him regularly.
