Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was reportedly on Real Madrid’s managerial shortlist.

Madrid announced Zidane as their new manager on Monday following the departure of Santiago Solari.
The French legend stepped down from his managerial role at the Spanish giants at the end of last season after guiding Los Blancos to three successive Champions League titles.
The Times reported last week that Tottenham boss Pochettino was on the list of managers Madrid were looking at at the end of the season.
With the European giants having just appointed Zidane, they will not be looking at Pochettino anytime soon, and former Arsenal striker Wright believes that Tottenham fans can be relieved.
Tottenham are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 61 points from 30 matches, just one point clear of fourth-placed and bitter North London rivals Arsenal.

Wright said on The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday evening (7:04pm, March 12, 2019) when asked if Tottenham fans will breathing a sign of relief at Zidane getting the Madrid managerial job: “Yeah, they would do, especially when you listen to Mauricio Pochettino.
“At the moment he sounds like a man who has got a lot on his plate in respects of what he is thinking, talking about not winning in 10 years, talking about the arrogance of his team. The Spurs fans will be relieved about that, yeah, of course.”
