Ian Wright critical of West Ham despite their 1-0 victory against Swansea.
(L to R) BT Sport pundits Ian Wright and Rio Ferdinand are seen prior to the Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final match between Arsenal and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.
Ian Wright thinks West Ham United fans should be worried about their club despite the 1-0 win over Swansea City in their last Premier League match before the international break.
Diafra Sakho scored a last minute winner for the Hammers at the London Stadium during a game in which the home support were vocally critical of the players.
Wright believes that the way manager Slaven Bilic is using strike duo Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez is concerning and the three points against the Swans only partially masks the problem.
Slaven Bilic, manager of West Ham United, instructs during the Premier League match against Swansea City.
“When you’ve got Andy Carroll and Chicharito, two potent players in the box, you don’t want to see them in this situation [out wide],” the former Arsenal forward said on Match Of The Day.
“This win, as much as you’ve got to take it, does paper over the cracks and I think West Ham fans are very disappointed.
“These are two players who are potent. He’s [Hernandez] got 40 goals in the Premier League all from inside the box. He had one touch inside the box all game.
“There’s a lot of work to be done at West Ham.”

The victory over Swansea moved the East London outfit out of relegation zone for the first time this season, with seven points taken from their last four matches.
The pressure that was building on Bilic has subsided slightly, but Wright is voicing concerns that many West Ham fans seem to share and it remains to be seen if the Croatian can truly turn things around.
Hernandez does have three league goals since a summer move from Bayer Leverkusen, although has often be played out of position on the wing, while Carroll is yet to find the net in 2017/18.
