Ian Wright thinks one Liverpool player can do what his teammates cannot

Ian Wright has raved about Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, as quoted in The Liverpool Echo.

The Arsenal legend believes that Firmino, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, is unique in the current Liverpool team.

Wright has also stated that when the Brazil international does not play, it is noticeable.

The Englishman made the comments about the 28-year-old following Liverpool’s win against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Liverpool Echo quotes Wright as saying about Firmino: “He’s so good. What he does is so important to what Liverpool do. When he’s not playing, it’s so noticeable. No-one else can do what he does.”

According to WhoScored, Firmino has made 30 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in the process.

The Brazilian also scored one goal and provided three assists in eight Champions League games for Jurgen Klopp’s side this campaign, according to WhoScored.

The 28-year-old scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 34 league matches, and scored four goals and provided one assist in 12 Champions League games for the Merseyside outfit during the 2018-19 campaign, according to WhoScored.

Firmino played an instrumental role in Liverpool winning the Champions League last season and the Premier League title this campaign.
