Ian Wright has said on Optus Sport that Tottenham Hotspur duo Japhet Tanganga and Dele Alli could now be set for a spell on the substitutes’ bench.
The Arsenal legend made the comments about Tottenham midfielder Alli and defender Tanganga following the North London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this past weekend.
Arsenal won the Premier League match 3-1.
Both Tanganga and Alli started the game, but Spurs head coach Nuno took them off at half time.
Tottenham were 3-0 down at that stage.
Wright said on Optus Sport: “You only have to look at, Dele and Tanganga got taken off at half-time, I instantly look at those two and feel that he wasn’t happy with what they were doing. They got dragged instantly.
“When you look at the way they both played, it wasn’t very good. Reading into what he’s saying, he looked to me like ‘right, that’s it, I’m finished with them for the minute’, he needs to start doing something where people can implement what he wants to do
“I’m looking on the bench and I don’t know if he’s going to be able to bring people on to implement his game plan, but it seems to me that taking those two players off was something that he almost looked like ‘I’ve had enough of that now, bam I’ve got to do something else’.”

Worrying for Japhet Tanganga and Dele Alli?
Alli started the season well, and Tanganga was also playing well for Tottenham in the opening games.
However, neither player is doing particularly well at the moment, and there is a danger that they could now be out of the team for a while.
Giovani Lo Celso could take Alli’s place, while Emerson Royal could replace Tanganga at right-back.
Failure to do well in Tottenham’s biggest game of the season so far could cost Alli and Tanganga.
It will be very interesting to see Nuno’s team selection before the international break.
