Ian Wright suggests West Bromwich Albion should appoint Darren Moore

West Bromwich Albion need to select a manager to lead them for their Championship campaign.

Ian Wright has told Match of the Day, which was broadcast on BBC One on 13th May, that West Bromwich Albion should put Darren Moore in charge next season.

Moore has done a remarkable job since taking caretaker charge, and won the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award in April.

The 44-year-old has led West Brom to victories over the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United during his time in charge to strengthen his claim to land the job on a permanent basis.

And while Wright admits it would be a risk for the Baggies to leave Moore in charge, he suggests that it is a gamble worth taking for the Midlands side.

“It’s a risk for me that might be worth taking [appointing Moore]. Why not,” he questioned.

Moore has no managerial experience, and would be under pressure to lead West Brom to promotion next season if he did take charge.

West Brom have a habit of bouncing straight back from relegation, and there is hope that they can repeat the trick again.

If Moore is not put in charge by West Brom, Dean Smith is thought to be his leading rival for the job.
