Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has been linked with a move away from the club.

Ian Wright has told The Sun that Kyle Walker’s reported unhappiness at Tottenham has highlighted a big problem that Mauricio Pochettino’s men could well have more often in the future.
According to The Sun, Walker is unhappy at being left out of key games with Mauricio Pochettino often rotating between the 26-year-old and Kieran Trippier at right-back, and is now attracting the attention of some of Spurs’ Premier League rivals.
And while Walker’s situation is not down to money it seems, Wright has suggested that Spurs’ wage structure could well harm their chances of progressing in future as unhappy players can easily have their heads turned by what they could be earning elsewhere.
“This is the problem that Spurs are going to have,” he told The Sun.
“Players disrupted by thinking ‘I should be earning more money.’
“When you go to the England squad, even back in my day, some people are earning three times as much as you and you’re doing the business.”
If Walker is as unsettled at White Hart Lane as The Sun suggests he may be, then he may well be interested in considering more lucrative options, and the structure may make negotiations difficult for some players in future when they know that joining Tottenham is not the most financially profitable move.

However, it must not be forgotten that with the current structure in place, Tottenham have still been able to challenge for the title two years in a row, while also competing on several other fronts.
So while relaxing their approach to player wages slightly may help them take that next step, it surely makes little sense to try a completely different strategy when the current plan in place seems to be working so well and has taken Spurs to the verge of something incredibly special.
