Ian Wright has told the Wrighty’s House podcast that he is starting to feel worried about Arsenal youngsters Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah.

Nelson and Nketiah have both only had limited game time at Arsenal this season, despite the Gunners’ struggles in an attacking sense.

Alexandre Lacazette has not exactly been in flying form in Arsenal’s number nine position, but Mikel Arteta has been reluctant to start Nketiah.

Nelson, meanwhile, is yet to make a Premier League appearance.

And Wright admits that he is becoming concerned about the two Arsenal prospects now.

“Reiss Nelson, what’s going to happen? Because you’re not playing Pepe,” Wright said.

“You have to be worried about Reiss, and to a certain extent Eddie as well.

“People are talking about Laca has to be taken out, maybe just for himself to have a rest.

“Eddie now should be looking at what Laca does and why Laca is in the team.

“He’s got to start leaning about the progression of himself. Because by now, with the goals that we know he’s capable of scoring, because he can get in the box and can finish, he should be adding the other things to his game to start saying he should be putting more pressure on Laca.”

Arteta did suggest that he was planning to make changes at Arsenal, following their defeat to Aston Villa, so Nketiah and Nelson may be in with a chance of starting.

Arsenal are next in action against Leeds United on Sunday, and they are under a considerable amount of pressure.

The Gunners are currently in 11th place in the Premier League table, and unless results improve soon, serious questions could be asked of Arteta and his team selections.
