Arsenal ended their season with a comfortable 2-0 win, beating Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium.
Nicolas Pepe was the hero of the day, bagging a second-half brace to clinch all three points for Mikel Arteta’s men.
The Ivorian has ended the season in stunning form, smashing five goals in his final three games to show Arsenal fans what he can do.
They’re now hoping he takes that form into next season, and Ian Wright feels that Arteta didn’t quite get it right with him this season.
Speaking to Match of the Day, Wright suggested that Arteta made a mistake in persisting with Willian earlier in the season instead of going with Pepe.
Wright noted that Pepe has ‘a lot of skill’, and believes Arteta needs to show more faith in Pepe in order to get the best out of him.

“He’s somebody that you’d have liked to have seen the faith shown in him earlier on in the season, but he persisted with Willian, and we saw how that worked out,” said Wright. “He’s got a lot of skill,” he added.
Pepe has blown hot and cold throughout his time at Arsenal, and he really needs to bring it all together in his third season.
Willian surely won’t be in his way next season, but with Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli in the mix, Pepe needs to make sure Arteta has no reason to drop him.
