Would West Ham United’s Andy Carroll be a good signing for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window?

Carroll started his professional club football career at Newcastle and joined Liverpool in January 2011 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be around £35 million.
The England international struggled to make an impact at Anfield and moved to West Ham in 2013 following a loan spell at the Hammers from the Reds.

During his time at the London club so far, the 28-year-old has had injury problems, but when he is fit, he is a handful for the opposition defenders.
Former Arsenal striker Wright has suggested that Newcastle should try to bring back the 28-year-old to St. James’ Park.

According to a recent report in The Mirror, Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle are interested in signing Carroll on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, though, has since suggested, as quoted by Football.London, that Carroll – who earns £130,000 per week as salary at the Hammers according to The Mirror – will not leave in the summer transfer window.
“I think I read something that they have been linked with Andy Carroll,” said Wright on BBC 606 Facebook live on Sunday (August 20, 2017). “I think that would be something that they should try and explore, see if they can do that.”
