Ian Wright thinks David Moyes’ West Ham United have had the best 2023 summer transfer window of Premier League teams after selling star man, Declan Rice.
The former striker stated that James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez will ‘balance out’ the absence of Declan Rice after receiving a club-record transfer for the England international.
Added to that, Wright also feels that Mohammed Kudus is a ‘very good’ capture after his arrival from Ajax, as he told Premier League Productions (04/09/23 at 2:45 pm).
On Friday night, West Ham continued their strong start to the new Premier League season by beating newly-promoted Luton Town, with Kudus coming off the bench for his debut in stoppage time.
It will be interesting to see how he copes when he makes his first start for the club because he will do very well to match someone like Ward-Prowse, who provided two assists during the win over Chelsea.
Either way, when Wright was asked about which team he felt had the best transfer window, he put forward West Ham’s name.

“I think West Ham made some good signings,” said Wright. “I think Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse would probably balance that out. Kudus is very good.
“I think Maverpanos, former Arsenal, I think they are good signings. They will be very happy with that. People knew West Ham had the money, so they had to really be box-clever. I think West Ham have done really well.”

Can West Ham finish in the European places?
That Europa Conference League win, which will live long in the memory of fans, helped West Ham maintain their European run because they will now be competing in the Europa League.
But the Premier League form wasn’t great last season and fans will be hoping that can now change after their very strong start to the new season.
The new arrivals seemed to have brought a new lease of life to the team, as the forward players, from Jarrod Bowen to Michail Antonio, look refreshed and ready to possibly score the goals needed to continue this strong start to the season.
