Tottenham Hotspur were second-best on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United at Elland Road.

Spurs fell behind as Eric Dier allowed a Jack Harrison cross to go all the way past him, with Stuart Dallas scoring from close range.

Son Heung-min equalised, but that’s as good as it got for Spurs as Patrick Bamford put Leeds back in front before half time.

Rodrigo then added a third after the break, with Spurs unable to get back into the game in what was a dismal display.

A number of Spurs players failed to turn up for the game at Elland Road, and Ian Wright was particularly concerned with two players.

Wright, speaking on Match of the Day, highlighted the poor effort from both Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon during the third Leeds goal.

Both full backs were caught high up the pitch, and with Raphinha racing away to tee up Rodrigo, neither looked all that fussed about getting back to prevent a chance on goal.

Wright claimed that neither of them were ‘at the races’ throughout, and whilst Leeds’ stamina and energy was important, Wright felt that it didn’t look like they even wanted to get back for the team.

“We’ve seen it with Aurier and even with Reguilon as well, they just weren’t at the races,” said Wright. “You can talk about Leeds and Leeds’ stamina and energy, but look where Aurier is, and look where Reguilon is – look at him trying to get back, same with Reguilon. That’s not trying to get back,” he added.
