Ian Wright has provided his reaction to the signing of Martin Odegaard, who has joined Arsenal.
What’s the deal?
The Norway international has completed his move to north London. Odegaard has signed a four-year deal with the option of a fifth.
He has joined for an initial fee believed to be in the region of €35m (£30m), according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Taking to Instagram, the club legend reacted to the club’s announcement of the ace.
In a six-word comment, Wright called it a ‘great deal’, Odegaard a ‘fantastic player’ and commented on his squad number.
When talking about the deal Wright said: “Great deal. Fantastic player. No 8.”
Odegaard is an outstanding signing
Odegaard is a fine signing for Arsenal as Wright has alluded to.
The play-maker shone during spells in his six-month loan deal last season.
It is clear the player made an impact on Mikel Arteta, who was ‘insistent’ on signing the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, creating has been a problem for the Gunners over the course of this year.
It continued in Friday’s defeat away to Brentford, where the north Londoners rarely threatened David Raya.
Odegaard is a player who can fix this issue and at £30m is a bargain for the Gunners.
