Ian Wright has suggested on Match of the Day 2, which was broadcast by the BBC, that he doesn’t believe Liverpool will get new owners, despite the mounting pressure on FSG.
Liverpool owner John W Henry made a video apology to supporters last week, after fierce backlash from Reds supporters to their involvement in the Super League.
There have now been calls for Liverpool’s owners to step aside from supporters and past players alike.
But when asked if he felt any of the owners would actually sell up, Wright said: “No, not the way these guys run the club and the amount of money that is involved.
“That at some stage has to be changed as well, it’s ridiculous.”
It has already been claimed in the Daily Mirror that Henry has knocked back an offer of £3 billion for the club recently.
At that figure, if FSG were to sell they would, therefore, make a significant profit on their investment.

However, Liverpool’s owners have shown no intention to step down so far, despite the protests in the past week.
If FSG are to win back the trust of Liverpool fans, they will surely have to make some serious statements of intent in the coming months.
But the Reds have always spent prudently since the American group have taken charge, and it does seem unlikely that stance will change too much, which could bring even more added pressure on to them.
