Ian Wright has tweeted Glasgow Rangers new boy Joey Barton saying that his move to Ibrox will be fantastic for him.

Barton signed a two-year contract at Rangers yesterday, becoming Mark Warburton’s side’s biggest addition of the summer transfer window so far.

Barton will bring experience and class to the Glasgow side’s midfield ranks, and Arsenal legend Wright has wished the midfielder well.

Barton’s arrival at Rangers has already created great excitement around the club, as it is a signal of their intent for next campaign.

Warburton has already been busy strengthening his side for the Scottish Premiership, with four new players already set to arrive at Ibrox in the summer.

Jordan Rossister, Matt Crook and Josh Windass all signed for Rangers before Barton arrived.

Rangers are also expected to bring in Niko Kranjcar, and Warburton has suggested that other deals are close to completion.

Rangers won the domestic double this past season, meaning they should head into next campaign with a great amount of momentum behind them.
