Ian Wright said on Premier League Productions that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was fortunate to score the penalty against Fulham.
The former Arsenal star believes that Salah was “very lucky” that his spot kick for Liverpool went in.
In the Premier League game at Craven Cottage in London on Sunday evening, the home side took the lead through Bobby Decordova-Reid in the 25th minute.
Liverpool were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute, and Salah fired it low under goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Wright said on Premier League Productions: “I thought this was a very fortunate penalty. He just got it past the keeper.
“It’s really strange because when you look at how he hit it, the keeper may have been expecting something with a little bit more power. In the end, it kind of trickled in. I thought he was very lucky to get away with that.”
Disappointing result for Liverpool
Liverpool were expected to win against Fulham with ease on Sunday evening, but the London club stepped up their game and will be disappointed that they could not pick up all three points from the encounter.
The defending Premier League champions were far from their best, especially in the first half, and manager Jurgen Klopp will not be happy with the final result.
Liverpool will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield in the Premier League.
Spurs and Liverpool are at the top of the league table at the moment with 25 points.
