Ian Wright has praised Leeds United winger Daniel James on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (10:57pm, March 13, 2022) for his performance against Norwich City at Elland Road.

The Arsenal legend believes that James, a former Manchester United player, worked hard for Leeds in their 2-1 win against Norwich in the Premier League on Sunday.

The 24-year-old former Swansea City winger provided the assist for Rodrigo’s goal in the 14th minute.

Wright said: “He did have a good game, Daniel James, I will give him that. He ran himself into the ground.”

How did Daniel James play for Leeds v Norwich?

In our view, James did well for Leeds against Norwich and should be proud of his performance.

Yes, the Wales international winger should have done better with the changes he got, but the 24-year-old worked hard for the team, played some lovely passes, and showed his pace.

James started on the right of an attacking midfield-three, and his forays into the Norwich box were very encouraging.

The winger took one shot which was on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 72.2%, took 32 touches, made one clearance, and put in three crosses.

For Leeds to retain their Premier League status for next season, in our opinion, James will have to be on top of his game in the final weeks of the current campaign.
