Ian Wright has told the Kelly & Wrighty Show that new Tottenham star Ivan Perisic will be “an amazing player” for Antonio Conte’s side – after the Croatian veteran nabbed a second assist for Spurs against Wolves on Saturday.
Perisic, 33, is one of seven new signings at Tottenham this summer. He joins the club along with Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie – the latter going back on loan to Udinese.
The 113-time Croatia international made substitute appearances against Southampton and Chelsea. At Stamford Bridge, it was his corner that Harry Kane flicked into the back of the net for the dramatic injury-time equaliser to draw.
Then, on Saturday, he was handed his first start for Spurs – coming in for Ryan Sessegnon. He got his head to the ball to flick the ball to the back post, again, for Kane to score. Wright is a big fan, and excited at the prospect of Perisic.

“It’s not the most entertaining football, but they will get better. Perisic, from what I saw of him, looked very good. He’s going to be amazing, because he’s an amazing player,” Wright told his own show, on Monday afternoon.
Wright: Perisic will be an amazing player for Tottenham
He looks the real deal. Perisic has been linked with the Premier League so many times in the past, even confirming himself he has almost joined Arsenal and Manchester United. Now, he finally gets his chance in English football.
The reason why he has been linked with English clubs in the past is because, clearly, he is ready-made for the Premier League football. He is hard-working, physical and aggressive, even at 33. But he combines that with end product.
He is going to be a brilliant option for Conte. A player he has worked with before at Inter Milan, he will surely begin to become first choice over Sessegnon – but a good player for Sessegnon to learn from over the next two seasons.
