The La Liga duo joined the Gunners late in the summer transfer window.
BT Sport’s Ian Wright before the match
Quoted by the Daily Star, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said that summer signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez will be majestic buys if they hit the ground running.
It proved to be a highly frustrating summer for the Gunners fans, who were forced to wait for their side to spend money and improve their squad.
After the early arrival of Granit Xhaka, Arsene Wenger waited until the final week of the transfer window to secure Mustafi and Perez to bolster his squad.

They are not moves that have overly excited the fans, with some going as far as to label both players as panic buys. Wright has rubbished that suggestion, though, saying both could be majestic purchases if they hit the ground running.
“How can you call them panic buys?” the Daily Star quotes him saying.
“We haven’t seen them play or do anything. If they come in and hit the ground running, they’re majestic buys. People are saying it’s panic buys before they even see them play.”

The problem for both Mustafi and Perez is that they are not likely to be given much time to prove their worth.
After the frustration of this summer transfer window, Arsenal fans are now expecting the signings to hit the ground running and transform their side.
If they don’t manage to do that, then they are likely to be labeled as flops and written off quickly by those expectant fans.
