Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Ian Wright has been speaking about Liverpool’s game against Manchester United over the weekend.

Like the rest of us, the Arsenal legend was blown away by the Reds’ performance against their biggest rivals, but there was one moment in particular that he wanted to highlight.

Indeed, while most people were speaking about Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick or Manchester United’s complete lack of discipline, but one thing that didn’t get anywhere near enough attention was Jordan Henderson’s assist for Salah’s third goal.

Henderson played a long curling pass with the outside of his foot, and it was the type of pass that even Andres Iniesta would have been proud of.

Wright was seriously impressed by Henderson’s assist and he found the time to give the Reds’ captain credit.

What’s been said?

Wright was blown away by this moment of brilliance.

“You know what else I have to mention during that game. Jordan Henderson’s pass for Salah’s third goal. It was sublime, it didn’t get enough love, nowhere near enough love, and that is a worry for anybody playing against Liverpool because those players are playing with ultimate confidence and that’s a worry for anyone,” Wright said.

What a pass

What else can we say about Henderson’s assist than that it was brilliant?

Henderson isn’t the most fashionable player in the Premier League by any stretch, but that shouldn’t overshadow the fact that this was the type of assist that you can only pull off if you’re a special player.

If Kevin De Bruyne had played this pass, we’d be speaking about it for weeks, but because it’s Henderson, we’ve not seen the midfielder get anywhere near as much credit as he deserves.
