Speaking on the Ringer FC Podcast, Ian Wright and Ryan Hunn have been discussing some of the most interesting January transfers, and they touched on Bryan Gil.

The Spanish winger only arrived at Tottenham in the summer, but he’s already been shipped out on loan, joining Valencia until the end of the season.

Hunn says that he’s very intrigued to see what Gil can do back in Spain, while Wright agreed, adding that it didn’t really click for him at Tottenham.

What’s been said about Gil?

Wright and Hunn spoke about the attacker.

“From a football point of view, the two you mentioned there with Dele and Donny, but I am interested to see what Bryan Gil can do at Valencia,” Wright’s co-host said.

“Wow, because at Spurs it just didn’t happen,” Wright replied.

Didn’t happen

Wright is absolutely spot on, it really hasn’t happened for Gil at Spurs so far.

He’s played hardly any football, and when he has appeared, he’s not made an impact.

To be fair, it must be hard for Gil. He’s 20 years old, in a new country and he’s already worked under two different managers at his new club. Life in England has hardly been stable for him thus far.

Hopefully, back in La Liga he’s able to get some more minutes under his belt and show just how talented he is.

Gil is certainly a player to keep an eye on between now and the end of the season.
