Arsenal legend Ian Wright said on the BBC Radio 5 live 606 show on Sunday evening (September 25, 2016) that he likes Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson as a player.

The former Arsenal striker also explained why he rates the ex-Sunderland midfielder highly.

“I think he is more than good enough as a player,” said Wright about Henderson on the BBC Radio 5 live 606 show on Sunday evening (September 25, 2016).

“I like him simply because of the pressure he was under when he went to Liverpool, for the price tag and the character he showed not only to get through that with the players that he was around at the time, but to get through that and become captain, and now he is playing behind a sensational quartet of players which is only going to make him and them better.”

Henderson joined Liverpool from Premier League rivals Sunderland in the summer of 2011.

According to a report in The Daily Mail at the time, the Reds had to pay the Black Cats a transfer fee of £16 million in order to secure the services of the 26-year-old midfielder.

The midfielder has not always been at the top of his game at Anfield, but he is someone who can be relied upon.
