Former Celtic striker reflects on a difficult start to the season.
Ian Wright has told BBC Sport he can understand if Brendan Rodgers chose to quit Celtic.
Celtic are six points behind league leaders Hearts, and one point back from rivals Rangers.
This season they have suffered two early league losses, and been knocked out of the Champions League qualifying stages.
It comes against the backdrop of a disappointing transfer window, which saw star striker Moussa Dembele sold in the final hour.
Ian Wright said he feels Brendan Rodgers may have taken Celtic as far as he can.
He said: “I’m not sure what more, with all due respect to Celtic, he can do there now.
“If he was linked away and he came out and said ‘I feel I’ve taken them as far as I can, I’ve got two trebles’, he could probably use that to say he wants a new challenge.
“You could see that happening and, no matter what you say, he can get teams playing well. He would be sought after.”
While Rodgers has won the lot in Scotland, leaving now would still seem premature.
Celtic fans are desperate to keep winning successive titles to reach 10 in a row.
Leaving before he gets to this point would be an admission he does not feel he is up to doing so, and shying away from the challenge.
Rodgers did not get a chance to turn around his Liverpool blip and ended up getting sacked.
While there is no danger of that here, Rodgers needs to show he can rally his team and turn around a challenging scenario, and not walk away from the task.
