Daniel Sturridge has joined West Bromwich Albion on loan from Liverpool despite interest from Newcastle United.

Sturridge has joined West Brom from Premier League rivals Liverpool on loan in the January transfer window.
The former Manchester City and Chelsea striker will remain at the Baggies until the end of the season.
According to BBC Sport, Newcastle and Italian giants Inter Milan were also interested in securing the services of the striker, but West Brom manager Alan Pardew is claimed to have convinced the 28-year-old move to The Hawthorns.

Former Arsenal striker Wright, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has suggested that Sturridge should have joined Newcastle.
The former England international has also stated that the Liverpool-owned striker could have galvanised Newcastle had he made the switch to St. James’ Park.
“To me, right now, if I was in his position, I would have probably chosen Newcastle,” Wright told BBC Sport.
“I think going to Newcastle with that roar, he could have really galvanised them,” added Wright.

West Brom are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment, while Newcastle are currently 15th in the standings.
Sturridge joined Liverpool from Chelsea in January 2013 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £12 million.
