Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has been discussing Arsenal and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The Belgian midfielder joined the Gunners this summer, and while the London club have struggled so far this season, Lokonga has been one of the brighter sparks.
Indeed, the midfielder, despite being just 21 years old, has been one of the Gunners’ better performers this season, and Wright believes he’s very similar to Thomas Partey.
What’s been said?
Wright was speaking about Arsenal’s summer business, particularly the criticism their signings have been getting from Gary Neville.
“I couldn’t understand Gary Neville. You can see we’re going young and going with the long game,” Wright said.
The Gunners legend then spoke about how the new signings have allowed Mikel Arteta to play his preferred style, and his co-host was keen to give Lokonga praise.
“I think the real key to all of that is the dynamism of Lokonga in there as well,” Wright’s co-host said.
“He’s very similar to Partey isn’t he?” Wright said of Lokonga.

Future star
At the age of just 21, it looks as though Lokonga could be an absolute star.
He was one of Anderlecht’s most important players, and he’s even managed to break into the Belgium squad despite the fact the Red Devils are in the midst of a golden generation.
If Lokonga goes on to be as good as Partey then the Gunners will have an excellent player on their hands, but early signs suggest that he could go on to be even better than his Ghanaian teammate.
