Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has been sent a message by Ian Wright after his heartbreaking Instagram post.
Alexander-Arnold posted today that he was ‘absolutely gutted’ after being ruled out of the European Championships with injury.
The Liverpool full-back damaged his thigh in England’s warm up game against Austria earlier this week.
And, after scans, the news was confirmed that Alexander-Arnold would miss the chance to play for England this summer.
It was a devastating piece of news for Alexander-Arnold, and plenty of players rushed to wish him well after his Instagram post.
The Liverpool man was also sent three-words by Ian Wright, who simply said ‘we love you’.
After all the debate over whether Alexander-Arnold would make the squad, it is a cruel way for the right-back to fall out of contention.
Alexander-Arnold had fought so hard in the final months of Liverpool’s season to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
With Alexander-Arnold now ruled out with injury, it seems most likely that James Ward-Prowse or Jesse Lingard will be called into Southgate’s 26-man squad.
