Ian Wright has congratulated former club Arsenal on the news about Bukayo Saka.

The Gunners confirmed this afternoon that Saka had drawn a line under the speculation regarding his future by signing a new contract in North London.

The 18-year-old sensation was originally only contracted to Arsenal until next summer, prompting speculation a switch to Liverpool among others.

But the Hale End graduate is clearly happy to stay with his boyhood club, with additional reports claiming that he has signed a four-year extension.

Saka is potentially the most exciting of all the young Arsenal players coming through, having scored three goals and set up another 10 during a superb breakthrough season under Unai Emery and later Mikel Arteta.

Here’s how the legendary Wright reacted to the news on Twitter:

Saka rose through with the ranks with Tyreece John-Jules, and here’s how his fellow starlet at London Colney reacted to the news:

This is brilliant news and how Arsenal fans would love their club to follow it up by announcing a new deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang too.

The Gabon hitman is also only contracted to Arteta’s side for another 12 months and keeping him and Saka would be an exceptional start to the summer.
