Leeds United have managed to keep Kalvin Phillips at Elland Road.

Leeds United have given fans the news they have been waiting for, announcing that midfielder Kalvin Phillips has signed a new contract.
The Whites fought off interest in Phillips from Premier League clubs this summer, and there has been real hope of late that a new deal was possible.
Reports over the weekend suggested that a deal was close, and the club have now announced that Phillips has signed a new five-year deal at Elland Road.
The 23-year-old midfielder will now stay with Leeds until 2024, or at least leaves the club in a very strong position to command a huge fee for him in the future.
As one of the Championship’s top midfielders, this is obviously a huge move for Leeds, but as the heartbeat of the Leeds midfield, it’s also perfect for Marcelo Bielsa.
Replacing Phillips would have been a huge task, and the Whites will now hope to have Phillips playing in the Premier League next season with promotion from the Championship.

Now, pundit Ian Wright has taken to Twitter to react to the deal, admitting that he is delighted for Phillips having extended his stay with his boyhood club.
Teammate Luke Ayling also reacted to the news, predicting that many people will be happy tonight having heard the news, with a real feel-good factor around the club for their actions both on and off the pitch.
