Arsenal veteran defends new signing from criticism.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has defended new Gunners signing Stephan Lichtsteiner’s performance for Switzerland.
Lichtsteiner signed for Arsenal on a free transfer earlier this month.
He helped Switzerland claim a draw in their World Cup opener against a star studded Brazil side, with the game finishing 1-1.

Wright took exception to a tweet from a fan criticism Lichtsteiner’s performance, and explained why he felt the Swiss defender did well.
As Wright pointed out, it is a game of opinions, and the supporter is entitled to say he is worried about how Lichtsteiner may fare in the Premier League next season.
At the same time, Lichtsteiner will be feeling extremely positive with how he got on against Brazil, and Switzerland will fancy their chances of qualification to the last 16.
Next up for the new Arsenal signing is a tough match against Serbia, before they face Costa Rica in the final group game.
