Ian Wright has questioned why Arsenal’s players did not perform.
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright reacted on Twitter to the club’s surprise home defeat to Swansea City.
The Gunners lost 2-1, conceding a late Ashley Williams winner, despite going 1-0 up in the first half.
Wright was not impressed when the Welsh international netted the late goal.
Asked by a supporter whether Arsene Wenger would have been laying into the team at half-time with the score a 1-1, Wright responded to ask just why the team did not step up if that was the case.
The silver lining of Arsenal’s night was rivals Tottenham failing to win, losing 1-0 at West Ham, but this makes this failure to capitalise even worse. Arsenal have won just four of their last 11 games.
To cap matters off, Gunners goalkeeper Petr Cech injured himself in the dying minutes running back from a corner where he had gone up attempting to score, and will miss the weekend’s game with Tottenham.
