Ian Wright praised Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli for their performances as Arsenal secured a nervy 2-1 win over Wolves.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, with Manchester City set to host Tottenham on Sunday.
But just like against RC Lens in the Champions League in midweek, it was another fast start by Arsenal in north London.
This time it was Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard scoring inside fifteen minutes, with Ian Wright highlighting the Englishman and Gabriel Martinelli on the other flank, as he told Premier League Productions (02/11/23 at 4:05 pm).
The direct nature of the attacking duo was too hard to contain for a Wolves side that did beat Manchester City in the Premier League this season.
So, from that respect, Gary O’Neil’s side, who have been on the wrong end of some VAR calls this term, are no mugs.
But it was Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli who caught the eye of Ian Wright yesterday.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka shine for Arsenal
“They have been very dangerous Saka and Martinelli,” said Wright. “That’s his favourite, he cuts onto his right foot there and tries to bend it in the far post and it just hits the post.
“It’s really good play. Arsenal are stretching them. They are getting the balls to them very quickly, Martinelli and Saka and they are causing problems for Wolves.”

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli – two of the Premier League’s best
Whether it’s in the Champions League or the Premier League, for years and years to come, Arsenal have their future sorted out on those flanks.
Saka and Martinelli are two of the best in the business. That was proven last season and now it has gone up a level.
The only question marks over their heads was the Champions League and the fact that they had never competed in that competition.
Well, Arsenal fans are now seeing them work their magic, including helping the team to the knockout stages with one game to spare.
