Ian Wright raves about Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah after he scored twice against Leicester City.
Mohamed Salah scored two second-half goals as Liverpool came from behind to win 2-1 against Leicester City at Anfield on Saturday.
The 25-year-old has now taken his goal tally to 17 for the Premier League season, just one behind Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane. In addition, he has also registered five assists to his name.
Undoubtedly, he is Liverpool’s best Premier League scorer in a single season since Luis Suarez, and has scored the most goals (23) by a Reds player in all competitions before New Year since Roger Hunt in 1961-62.
He has turned out to be one of the signings of the season, and his exploits have earned him some high praise from former players and football pundits.
Former Arsenal player turned football pundit Ian Wright took this to a new level when he when he said in the BBC Match of the Day that the Egyptian reminds him of Barcelona great Lionel Messi.
“I’m not saying he is as good as who I am going to say but dare I say it,” said Wright in the BBC Match of the Day show.
“He reminds me of [Lionel] Messi, the scampering way he plays, he gives me a Messi-vibe.”
Football fans quickly reacted to Wright’s comments on Twitter, with many seeming to agree with the point the Arsenal legend has tried to convey.
