Everton signed Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City over the summer.

Pundit Ian Wright has told BBC Radio Five Live that he thinks Everton should have given a chance to teenage forward Ademola Lookman before signing Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City.
The Toffees have endured a nightmare September so far, as they have lost 3-0 to Tottenham, 3-0 to Atalanta and 4-0 to Manchester United in a disastrous set of results.
Sunday’s defeat at United was another huge blow for manager Ronald Koeman, who is coming under increasing pressure after a summer of spending, and subsequent poor results.

Koeman was backed with new signings such as Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Nikola Vlasic, Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez, but Everton have taken just four points from the first five Premier League games.
Everton’s spending appears to be taking them backwards rather than forwards, with Koeman still waiting for club-record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson to hit top gear having arrived from Swansea City.
The Iceland ace, who hit nine goals and 13 assists in the Premier League last season, had a disrupted pre-season due to questions over his future, and Everton will hope that he produces his best form sooner rather than later.

A problem for Everton so far has been their lack of pace, and pundit Ian Wright has now told BBC Radio Five Live that he doesn’t understand why they won’t give more of a chance to speedy teenage forward Ademola Lookman.
Wright believes that Lookman isn’t a million miles away from being a real contributor for Everton, claiming that the Toffees should have given more of a chance to the 19-year-old forward before breaking their transfer record for Sigurdsson, who Wright still claims is ‘fantastic’, but maybe not what Everton need.
“He is fantastic, Gylfi, and I’m sure at some stage in the season, we will see that, but I don’t think Lookman a million miles away,” said Wright. “Why sign Gylfi for that much money, when they know they need a striker, or they could save some money and give Lookman a little go. You’ve got Wayne Rooney there, you can throw Lookman in – why not throw him in?” he added.
