The Arsenal legend was pleased with the displays produced by 20-year-old midfielder Willock and 22-year-old Maitland-Niles, who can operate as a midfielder, winger or full-back.
Both the youngsters started the EFL Cup tie against Liverpool at Anfield and played for the entire game, and the duo scored as well.
According to WhoScored, Willock played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 90.9%, won one header, took 38 touches, and made three tackles, one interception and one clearance.
Maitland-Niles had a pass accuracy of 70.8%, took 50 touches, attempted three dribbles, and made two tackles and four interceptions, according to WhoScored.
Willock and Maitland-Niles have been struggling in recent weeks, and Arsenal legend Wright was impressed with the duo and is happy that they had a good game against Liverpool.
