Ian Wright has raved about reported Liverpool target Pedri on ITV (4:45pm, June 28, 2021).

The Arsenal legend believes that the Barcelona midfielder is a mix of Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

Xavi and Iniesta are two of the best players to ever turn out for Spain and Barcelona.

The Mirror reported in April that Liverpool want to sign the Spain international midfielder and are in contact with the 18-year-old’s agents.

Barcelona do not want to sell Pedri, who has a release clause of £70 million.

Wright said about Pedri on ITV (4:45pm, June 28, 2021): “He is a mixture of Xavi and Iniesta because he can get into positions. He sees the pass. He has got his head up, he has always got his head up, he sees the passes.”

Would Pedri make Liverpool better?

Pedri is doing well for Spain at the Euro 2020 finals at the moment.

The 18-year-old is an important player for Barcelona and was regular in the first team last season.

The youngster made 28 starts and nine substitute appearances in La Liga for Barcelona last season.

The teenager scored three goals and gave three assists in those matches.

Pedri also scored one goal and gave one assist in seven Champions League appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side last season.

It is unlikely that Barcelona will sell Pedri, although we all know that money talks.

Georginio Wijnaldum is longer at Liverpool, and manager Jurgen Klopp could do with a replacement midfielder.
