Ian Wright has hailed Aston Villa loanee Tammy Abraham.

Pundit Ian Wright has told BBC Radio Five Live (1:45:20) that he thinks Chelsea should be giving Tammy Abraham a go – but thinks he will have to leave the club this summer.
After a hit and miss loan spell with Swansea City, Abraham’s situation was up in the air at Chelsea. He wasn’t in contention for first-team action at Chelsea, and Goal even reported that a £25million bid from Tottenham was rejected.
The Premier League window ended with Abraham still at Chelsea, and with a loan move elsewhere the only possibility, Aston Villa swooped in to land a major coup.
So far this season, Abraham has smashed 25 goals in 37 games for Villa, and with Dean Smith’s side heading into the play-offs, the 21-year-old could fire Villa back into the Premier League.
Abraham would then head back to Chelsea, with his future again unclear. Chelsea are currently facing a transfer ban, meaning homegrown talents like Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi may feature more prominently next season.
Abraham would also fit into that category given that Chelsea’s main striker Gonzalo Higuain is only on loan, and Olivier Giroud is out of contract this summer.
That could give Abraham a chance to shine, but pundit Ian Wright has suggested that Chelsea should have been giving him an opportunity a long time ago, having shown his goalscoring ability at Villa.

Wright has thought predicted that Abraham won’t get the chance he deserves at Chelsea, meaning he may need to move on permanently – something Villa would no doubt love to take advantage of if they return to the top flight.
“I thought they should have given Tammy Abraham a go when Morata was there, when Michy Batshuayi was there,” said Wright. “They got rid of him, they never even gave him a look in. I know he went to Swansea, and he didn’t quite score as many goals as he’d have liked to. He’s gone to Villa this season, and he’s doing what he normally does.”
“It didn’t quite happen for him at Swansea, but he’s gone to Villa, it’s a big club and he’s scored goals again. I’d love to see him get an opportunity, but I don’t think that’s going to happen at Chelsea,” he added.
