Ian Wright has urged Arsenal on Twitter to “protect” head coach Mikel Arteta at all costs following the departure of Raul Sanllehi.
As announced on Arsenal’s official website today, Sanllehi is leaving the North London club as the head of football.
There is a possibility that Barcelona could make a move for Arteta, with ESPN reporting that the Spanish giants plan to dismiss Quique Setien from his role as the first-team head coach in the coming days.
Of course, there is no report or suggestion anywhere yet that Barcelona will come in for Arteta, but it must be noted that the Spaniard was at the La Liga outfit as a youth player.
Arteta has been superb for the Gunners since he was appointed as the club’s head coach in December 2019, and legend Wright wants the North London outfit to keep him at all costs.
Arsenal may have missed out on a top-four finish in the Premier League during the 2019-20 campaign, but they did win the FA Cup and will play in the Europa League in 2020-21.
