Pundit Ian Wright has told Premier League Productions that he was impressed with Raphinha’s work rate in Leeds United’s 1-0 win over Everton.
The Whites headed to Goodison Park on Saturday evening in search of three points having been frustrated against Arsenal.
Leeds were superb throughout, creating chance after chance, and the goal finally came in the final 15 minutes as Raphinha drove home a superb strike.
The Brazilian winger was electric throughout, showing great pace and energy before unleashing a drive past Jordan Pickford and into the net.
That was Raphinha’s first goal in a Leeds shirt having signed from Rennes in October, and fans will be hoping to see more of that quality.
He now appears to have nailed down a spot in Marcelo Bielsa’s side, replacing Helder Costa on the right flank in an exciting step forward for the Whites.
After Saturday’s win, pundit Ian Wright told Premier League Productions (28/11, 8:24pm) that he was impressed with Raphinha, possibly just as much as man of the match Kalvin Phillips.

Wright suggested that Raphinha put in a huge amount of work, and showed his fitness levels by getting away from Allan to score his goal, taking up a space where his fellow Brazilian simply couldn’t get across to him.
“It was a very good goal,” said Wright. “I know Kalvin Phillips was the man of the match, but Raphinha… we saw the work he put in.”
“He takes up that number 10 area, and you can see the difference in their fitness levels. Allan has got to be tighter to him, he cannot have that much space,” he added.
