West Ham United lost 5-1 against Arsenal at the London Stadium yesterday.

Ian Wright has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of West Ham United’s match against Arsenal, that he felt the atmosphere at the London Stadium during the contest was poor.

West Ham have had problems settling in at their new ground, with their form very poor at home this season.

The Hammers have won just two of their first seven matches in the league at the London Stadium.

And Slaven Bilic’s side were humiliated yesterday, as they slipped to a 5-1 defeat against Arsenal.

The Gunners tore apart West Ham again and again in the contest, and Wright felt that the atmosphere in the stadium was flat.

“It was quiet,” Wright said, of the London Stadium atmosphere. “This could have been embarrassing and humiliating for West Ham. This could have been a lot worse.”

West Ham fans did have little to cheer during the contest, as they were on the back foot from minute one.

Arsenal kept coming forward, and after Mesut Ozil opened the scoring the result never seemed in any doubt.

The Gunners added further goals thanks to a brilliant hat-trick from Alexis Sanchez, and a fine long-range strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

West Ham are now in 17th place in the Premier League table, and they sit just one point above the relegation zone.
