Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show that he is “jealous” that Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager.
Tottenham sacked Nuno as their manager earlier this week and soon after brought in Conte as his replacement.
The former Chelsea boss won his first game in charge of Spurs last night.
Tottenham beat Vitesse 3-2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Europa Conference League.
Former Arsenal star Wright has said that he is pleased for Spurs, but he has admitted that he is jealous as well.
Wright said when asked how he felt when Conte was announced as the Tottenham boss: “Jealous.
“Not saying that our manager ain’t doing his stuff, but jealous and pleased for them really. He is a top-drawer manager.”
Arsenal have been warned now
Arsenal are doing well at the moment, and there are even suggestions that Mikel Arteta’s side could challenge for the Premier League top four.
Under Nuno, Spurs were struggling.
However, Conte’s arrival at Tottenham will change that now.
Arsenal will now have a genuine challenge from Spurs this season in their quest for success.
Conte is a serial winner who was a huge success at Juventus, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
Now, of course, we must given credit to Arteta, who is a very good and young manager.
However, Conte is on another level and is an elite manager.
