Ian Wright has praised Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno on Premier League Productions for his performance against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

The Arsenal legend believes that Leno did well for Mikel Arteta’s side in their 1-0 win against Steven Gerrard’s Villa team in the Premier League game on Saturday.

The Germany international started the match due to injury to first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

BBC Sport pundit Wright has said that Leno did “fantastically well’ for Arsenal.

Wright said: “Bernd Leno done fantastically well when he came today.”

Bernd Leno did well for Arsenal v Aston Villa

In our view, Leno played well for Arsenal in the Premier League game against Villa.

Gerrard’s side did not always put the Gunners under pressure, but when Leno was called into action, he made the saves.

The 30-year-old did look nervous initially on the ball, perhaps because this was his first start in the Premier League since August.

However, Leno grew in confidence as the match went on and made some important saves.

We do not think that Leno will be part of the starting lineup once Ramsdale is back to full fitness.

However, in our opinion, the goalkeeper showed against Villa that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta can rely on him.

We think that Leno will leave Arsenal at the end of the season and move to another club
