Former Arsenal player says Tottenham give the best chances to young players.

BT Sport pundit Ian Wright looks on prior to the Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final match between Arsenal and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on April 23, 2017 in London, England.

Former Premier League striker Ian Wright has told SkySports he believes Tottenham Hotspur are the best club for young players right now.

Wright was asked which London club he would choose to play for if he was a trainee looking to start his career.

Asked to pick between Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, Wright set aside his Gooner loyalties to choose the latter.

Speaking to SkySports The Debate (3/4 10pm), Wright said: “I’d choose Spurs, because of the progression and what they are doing.

“I haven’t got a problem saying they are the number one right now.”

Chelsea have won the last four FA Youth Cups, but they have failed to create a path for their talented prospects to work their way into the first team.

Tottenham on the other hand are benefitting from the outstanding contribution from Harry Kane, while Harry Winks is also proving a valuable first team player, with Kyle Walker-Peters also beginning to step up to the first team.

Arsenal this season have begun to really integrate a group of young players, with Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah making debuts, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles featuring regularly.
