Ian Wright has said that West Ham United can challenge for the Champions League spaces this season, on the Kelly and Wrighty Show.
West Ham beat Aston Villa 3-1 in midweek to elevate themselves into fifth place in the Premier League table.
David Moyes’s side are now playing some of the most impressive football in the whole of the Premier League.
And Wright has backed West Ham to keep up their current form and challenge for the Champions League places.
“Yes, they can challenge,” Wright insisted.
“What they can do is take each game as they come. David Moyes is experienced enough to know that they can probably beat most teams, if they are playing like they’re playing.
“They absolutely can challenge because you cannot look at any team other than Manchester City and say they’ll be in there as well.
“West Ham have got a good chance of doing it.”
Wright’s comments are sure to delight West Ham fans, who are enjoying one of their finest campaigns in recent memory so far.
The Hammers are playing some wonderful football, with Moyes deserving of great credit.
West Ham have recruited well, and are now looking a major threat in attack, while remaining solid defensively.
Moyes’s men are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.
